I’m Rény Manwaring, a designer and artist based in San Clemente, California.

I think about what a home makes possible. Not just how it looks, but what it allows, what it limits, and what begins to take shape within it over time.

The work is built around the small, repeated moments that become a life. The way a day begins, how it unfolds, where it gathers. A space either supports that, or it dulls it.

When everything is too resolved, very little is revealed. The work asks for honesty, and at times, a willingness to be seen, in order to create something that feels true, rather than simply correct.

I’m drawn to environments that carry weight. Materials that are used as they are. Spaces that hold tension without forcing it, and that deepen rather than flatten with time.

A home should not only reflect who you are, but who you are becoming.
